Hey, I’m Lachy Young, owner of Insight guiding.

A bit about me, at age 8 I was taught to fly cast by Tasmanian fly fishing royalty Bill Beck and I've been fishing ever since. From the heat and beaches of the tropics in Wiepa and the Islands of the South Pacific all the way down to the windswept (and sometimes snowy) Little Pine Lagoon in Tasmania and everywhere in-between. From heavy tackle game fishing to fishing the lightest tippet on ‘twig’ fly rods, I've done it all.

After I retired from my job as an Intensive Care Paramedic, I found my passion for providing mentorship and education didn’t stop there. I look forward to using those skills learned in my prior life to guide you onto fish and to have great time while we are at it.

I am passonate about providing opportunities for people who are fishing less, or not at all due to ill health or poor mobility. It is important to me that every one has fair access to get out on the water and enjoy themselves.
